Worcestershire Hospitality Apprentices Are 'top Of The Class'!

The event, held at The Abbey Hotel in Malvern, celebrated the success of HIT’s Worcestershire learners who all completed either their Level 2 or Level 3 hospitality apprenticeships recently. Eight of them currently work at the Abbey Hotel; the remainder are employed in hospitality and catering roles at a wide range of county businesses including the Burlish Park Golf Centre in Kidderminster, Elim Conference Centre, Malvern, and the Shaw Health Care Ledbury and Leadon Bank nursing and care homes in Ledbury.

The successful apprentices – whose apprenticeships included Cleaning and Support Services (Intermediate), Professional Cookery (Intermediate), and Functional Skills (Levels 1 and 2) - received their certificates from Robert Bird, HIT regional operations manager, and Judith Chadwick from Worcestershire Council and Local Enterprise Partnership. Guests at the graduation ceremony included parents and friend of the apprentices, and representatives of local business employers.

All the apprentices worked really hard to achieve their qualifications, and we’re delighted that so many were able to take part in the celebrations,” said Kerry Davies, area manager for HIT Hereford & Worcestershire. “It was also great to see so many local business employers supporting their apprentices, all of whom are now equipped with valuable qualifications which will help them progress in their chosen careers.

“In fact many have been so inspired to earn while they learn that they plan to embark on further apprenticeships in the near future!”
