Volunteer abroad with Kaya Responsible Travel and get valuable work experience to put on your CV, while seeing the world and making a difference. Chose from 24 countries and over 200 project options.

With employers increasingly recognizing the value of candidates with volunteering experience, more and more students are making the most of their time off and joining volunteer projects abroad. By combining the opportunity to travel with the ability to gain valuable work experience, you can enjoy the experience of a lifetime, whilst making a real difference to communities, to environments, and to your CV.

At Kaya Responsible Travel we offer volunteer placements abroad, across Asia, Africa and Latin America. There is a wide scope of activity that you can get involved with, which means that there are options that suit different skills, interests and preferences – and many options where you can develop valuable skills to add to your CV. General areas of volunteering include environmental conservations (on land and in the seas), wildlife conservation, building work, teaching, healthcare, working with children, women’s empowerment and sports coaching. But there are also options such a journalism placements and ecotourism internships that provide great experience in niche areas.

You can also develop skills and even get some qualifications on Kaya’s courses, such as learning Spanish or Hindi language, joining a photography course or getting your PADI diving certificate. On Kaya’s TEFL course, you study in Thailand and when you qualify, are given support to use the qualification to get a job – which is a great option.

At Kaya we also have a paid work in Australia option. Here you are trained in agricultural activities, allowing you to work in the outback and see the real Oz, whilst getting paid.

Projects run year round and you can join placements for as little as two weeks, or as long as you like. Most projects accept participants ages 18 and over, but we have some options for under 18s too!
