National Apprenticeship Week 2013

The 2013 annual National Apprenticeship Week, the sixth so far, is set to be the biggest and best yet, with hundreds of events taking place across England between March 11th and 15th.

Created to celebrate apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on the economy, business and individuals, every National Apprenticeship Week is more popular than the one before.

The 2012 Week had over eight hundred activities and events on offer.

Organised, as always, by the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS), the 2013 Week will be offering activities and events on the theme "Apprenticeships Deliver", to showcase the benefits delivered by high quality apprenticeship to both employers and trainees.

CEO of the NAS, David Way, says: “We hope that this year’s National Apprenticeship Week will be the biggest yet, showcasing the excellent work delivered by apprentices in businesses and organisations around the country and the first rate training they receive.

“Apprenticeships help young people develop high quality, highly sought-after skills, improving their prospects while boosting an organisation’s bottom line. And currently small and medium-sized companies can also benefit from a £1,500 Apprenticeship Grant for Employers when they recruit their first apprentice, so there has never been a better time to get involved.”

A national calendar of events will be found on the NAS website to enable people to find out what will be happening the week in their local area.
