Jaguar Land Rover Looking For Apprentices
4 years ago

Jaguar Land Rover is now launching its 2013 apprenticeship programme recruitment drive.

The company is looking for 150 apprentices, as well as 800 more experienced workers who they’ll be taking on to cope with the anticipated demand for new models including the Jaguar F Type, out this summer.

The apprenticeship scheme is split between 90 Advanced Apprenticeships and 60 Higher Apprenticeships, with the closing date for applications on January 31st.

The Advanced Apprenticeships are open to candidates qualified at GCSE level. They'll be studying towards an NVQ2 in Performing Engineering Operations, an NVQ3 in a chosen trade, training in key skills like IT, communication and numeracy plus a technical certificate. These apprenticeships will last between three and four years, split between on-the-job training in the workplace and classroom studies at college.

The Higher Apprenticeships are open to candidates with A-Levels (or equivalent) in subjects including math and a technology or science subject. They'll be working towards a number of NVQ level qualifications in addition to an undergraduate engineering degree. These apprenticeships will take around six years to complete, with apprentices' time split between studies at university and workplace training.

Afterwards, apprentices will go on to a variety of roles within manufacturing and product development at Jaguar Land Rover's stores in the West Midlands and the North West.

Jaguar Land Rover's Head of Organisation Performance, Kirsty Scott, says: "We have recruited more than 300 apprentices in the last two years and are pleased to be recruiting another significant intake of new apprentices in 2013. We have ambitious plans for growth and Jaguar Land Rover is committed to providing the highest quality of both practical and academic training to develop future talent for the business."
