Follow The Crowd To University Or Do An Apprenticeship And Kick Start Your Career?

If you’re looking for a new direction and want a real job, a real salary and qualifications employers want then a QA Apprenticeship in IT, sales or business is for you. Sam Jones chose a QA Apprenticeship over college and now he is thriving in an IT role.

Are you going to follow the crowd to university or take the smarter route to a brighter future by doing an apprenticeship?

QA Apprenticeships in IT, sales and business offer you a real job, a real salary and qualifications employers want, with no fees or debts.

Sam Jones, a QA Apprentice tells us how he chose a QA Apprenticeship over college to establish a career in IT.

“I have found doing an apprenticeship to be far more helpful to me than going to university. Having a balance of work and learning is much better than learning full time at uni and having a part time job elsewhere. I would have come out with enormous debts.”

“Where I work I am constantly learning new things; I was surprised by just how much I was able to do in the first 2 weeks! I do all sorts from setting up PCs to doing repairs.”

Sam knew he wanted to get into IT and a QA Apprenticeship has given him the perfect opportunity to get hands on learning as well as studying the theory behind IT. Sam’s current 12 month programme consists of 80% work with his employer and 20% training at a QA learning centre.

“I love the hands-on side of the learning we do at the QA training centre. It was the first opportunity I’ve had to get inside a PC and fix it!”

A QA Apprenticeship has helped Sam build his career in more ways than one.

“Another thing that has changed since starting my apprenticeship is my confidence. Before I started the apprenticeship I would hate doing presentations or talking to new people on the phone but at work you have to, so you get used to it!”

Sam is now in a great position to be offered a permanent job by his employer once his apprenticeship is completed. He greatly encourages people like himself to do a QA Apprenticeship.

“If any of my friends were thinking about apprenticeships I would tell them to just go for it! The course is brilliant; it’s so worthwhile and also really enjoyable. There is a great balance and if you’re interested in IT it’s really easy to pick up!
