The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London’s Level 2 Beauty Therapy leaners took part in the annual makeup competition today (20 May) at the College’s Enfield Centre, with the top three winners walking away with a range of exclusive makeup and skin care products.

Around thirty students took part in the competition which takes place each year at the College. Learners were challenged to create a look under one of three categories; historical, fantasy or special occasion. They were given one hour to complete the makeup and thirty minutes to dress their models.

In third place came Natasha Hinds for her vampire look, Christina Patilas came second place with Indian themed look and first place was Amber Young with an outstanding mermaid look.

Level 2 winner Natasha said: “I’ve really enjoyed today. It was really challenging, especially creating the whole look in and ninety minutes. Competing against my friends and peers make the course enjoyable and keeps me on my toes. The level of everyone’s work today was really high and I’m really pleased that I won.”

Curriculum Manager, Maria Hadjinicolaou added: “People are always surprised at the standard of our students work when we hold these competitions but it’s testament to the time and effort they put it. They have all worked really hard and are all worthy winners in their own right. They can all walk away today knowing that they have done an excellent job in showcasing their work whilst working in a professional manner. There are definitely some budding makeup artists with bright futures ahead.”
