College Hairdressing Students Volunteer To Help At Local Moneywise Jobs Fair

Tottenham Centre student Trisha Smith, who has recently started Hairdressing Level 3 said of the Moneywise Jobs Fair: “When we were asked if we would like to volunteer and help, I jumped at the chance, I really enjoy helping others and I am a big believer in giving back to your local community.” Trisha went on to say: “I am really, truly enjoying my course. The teachers on the course are great and their enthusiasm really gets me wanting learn as much as possible.”

Fellow student and volunteer Amen Iyen also studying Hairdressing NVQ Level 3 said: “When we were given this opportunity, I was so excited, although I’ve only started the course recently; I really wanted to get some practical experience outside the safety of the classroom.” Amen Iyen, began at the College studying Hairdressing Level 1, before progressing to Level 2 and now 3. She said: “The teachers at the College are so energetic and want every single student to do well “.

Lydia Pelopida, Lecturer in Hair and Beauty also attended the event to offer on-site support and help to the students from the College. Lydia said: “It’s absolutely fantastic when events and chances for the students like this come about. It gives the students a great opportunity to experience hairdressing outside of the salon. It also gives us a superb opportunity to showcase the wonderful potential that our College and our students have.”

Jane O’Neill, Interim College Principal and Chief Executive said: “Learners at the college are trained to the highest industry standard in our commercial salons and learners really enjoy the chance to give back to the community at events like this.”
