Bypass university
You don’t need a degree to study CIMA. Unlike a lot of professional accountancy qualifications, the CIMA qualification is open to all – regardless of your educational background. All you need is competence in English and maths - and plenty of ambition. If you want to bypass university and head straight for the world of business, you can go straight into our entry level qualification – the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting. This will provide you with the fundamentals of management accounting, financial accounting and business, as well as a platform to progress through the qualification to becoming a Chartered Management Accountant.
There are various ways of approaching your CIMA studies. Usually, you will find an employer who encourage people to study CIMA, such as Sony, IBM, Vodafone or Kellogg’s. These companies will train you to become first class finance professionals whilst providing all the support you need to get through your CIMA exams.
Online community
Alternatively, you can take on a full time job in a sector that interests you and study for your CIMA qualification in your spare time. There’s no time limit and you can access study material online. There’s also CIMAsphere – an online community for CIMA students and members who can provide you with additional support. It’s also possible to study full time with certain tuition providers.
