Christmas Study Advice

The last thing you want to do after a long term is to start thinking about study over you Christmas holidays. Chances are you want to put your college or school bag away and forget all about it for a few weeks. However, that’s not how it works, as there is a pretty good chance you will have some study to do while you are on your Christmas break. Hopefully you haven’t been set so much that you can’t find time to relax – but we imagine that you want to spend as much time enjoying yourself as possible, without letting your work slip, of course!

The best thing you can do is to resist the temptation to hide your college bag in a cupboard until January and actually get straight on with working out what needs to be done. Sure, if you are breaking up from college tonight, give yourself some time to relax and put your feet up, but tomorrow morning it might be worth having a look at the work you have been set to do over Christmas.

By working out what you have got to get done there won’t be any nasty surprises waiting for you just before you are due to go back. You will be able to work out how long each item will take and can even organise some time to get on with your work.

Finding time to study can be tricky at Christmas as there is a good chance you will have family commitments to think about too – not to mention meeting up with friends. Plus, things only get busier the closer you get to Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve!

You will need to be even more organised with your time if you decide to look for a part-time job this Christmas.

The best thing you can do is to try and get on with your study as soon as you can, so that you have it out of the way before there are too many more calls on your time. Not only this, but by getting your work underway sooner, you have plenty of time if things take longer than expected, and your memory will still be fresh from your classes, making it easier to get it done.

Of course, you can use other study tips to improve the quality and speed of your work, but you need to be motivated to get on with it in the first place.

This is tough when you are just thinking about relaxing and enjoying the festivities, but you will be able to relax much more knowing that your homework is all out of the way, plus the sooner it is done, the less likely it is to get in the way of any sudden, unexpected invites. Finding that you have to stay home and miss a party because you didn’t bother doing some homework earlier really takes the shine out of the holiday season.

Don’t let your homework ruin your holiday – just get it done… and then relax!
