Kensington and Chelsea College is supporting Londoners to become more entrepreneurial with a series of summer work-shops and short courses that could lead to people selling their own products and services.
British online businesses are growing more than 57 times faster than the economy as a whole according to a recent study, and of the online businesses surveyed 64% said they were optimistic about their growth prospects for the year ahead.*
With online businesses thriving despite the current tough economic conditions, the college is urging people to try their hand at developing a new skill that could be the start of their very own online business success story.
Under its renowned summer school programme, the college has brought together a range of highly-sought after short courses and one-day workshops aimed at inspiring creativity and teaching skills that could generate an income.
Students will be taught by award winning professionals and industry experts including renowned milliner, author and TV personality Mary Jane Baxter, and there are more than 40 courses on offer including digital photography, sewing machine techniques, introduction to interior design and introduction to jewellery making.
The college is also offering two unique courses for design start-up businesses - 'The fashion entrepreneur: marketing and business for designers', delivered by Harriet Posner who has substantial design and marketing experience, is a published author on Marketing and has her own company; and 'The fashion entrepreneur in a global market' , delivered by Rupa Ganguli, who currently runs 3 separate fashion enterprises and previously worked for the United Nations and the World Trade Organisation on project development and small business start-up.
Both courses are geared towards designers in any creative field that have or are considering setting up their own business.
