Spirit Pubs, listed in the Sunday Times Top 25 Employers of Choice and currently operating more than eight hundred pubs across the UK, is planning to expand its apprenticeship programme and place an apprentice in every single one of its pubs.
Charnwood Training Group, having recently renewed its contract to deliver apprenticeship training to Spirit said the apprenticeship appointments would be made over the next couple of years, in both operational and management positions.
Charnwood will be providing mentoring, coaching, online learning and assessment services, and says that in the past thirty months over four hundred Spirit apprentices have either worked towards qualifications within their training programme, or have already graduated with Level 2 qualifications.
Joanne Bradford, Spirit's National Qualifications Manager, says: "We carried out a rigorous tendering process to find the right training provider for Spirit's future talent development. Charnwood's client engagement strategy attracted us, as did its track record and proven partnership supports skills."
And Managing Director of Charnwood, Gerwyn House, says: "We know the business objectives of Spirit and the goals of its talent development strategy. And we support the initiatives the company is putting in place to improve business performance by using apprenticeships as part of its internal career path".
Presently, Spirit has over 17,000 employees within brands like Chef & Brewer, Flaming Grill and UK Best Pub Brand Fayre and Square.
