I had been working in a newsagents for two and a half years but I always wanted to work with my hands as I’ve had a passion for mechanics since I was young. My mum then suggested doing a motor vehicle apprenticeship.
The best thing about the apprenticeship has been constantly learning on the job and being paid to practice the skills that I would be wanting to learn anyway. I now want to progress through the business into management.
Anyone thinking of applying for an apprenticeship, I say do it! University isn’t the only option.
