What was your background prior to joining Essity?
On leaving school I went to Carmel college studying A levels in business, economics and statistics, I did this for the first year. From there I went to St Helens college for two years, carrying out my level 2 and level 3 in electrical engineering before getting an apprenticeship.
What has been the highlight of your programme so far?
The training provided and the working environment that I am in. I am getting the support I need to learn whilst on site and at college.
What advice would you give for somebody considering an apprenticeship?
If it is in an area that you have an interest in and are willing to put the work in to get the most out of it, just give it a go and apply. Looking back, getting an apprenticeship with Essity is the best decision I have made.
What are your career aspirations moving forward?
My goal for the apprenticeship is to come out of my time with an overall distinction. I have a longer-term aspiration to lead a team.
