Ranked Number 1 In Student Success And Satisfaction For London Colleges - 2 Years Running
4 years ago

Topping the London league for Success Rates this year at 89.2%, this impressive result is a measure of how many qualifications started by the College’s learners were successfully completed.

What’s more, the excellent news follows a trend, as the College is London’s Number One for student satisfaction, also for two years running.

Students’ Union President, Melina Zachariou (pictured centre) said, “It’s easy to see why the College came first. You can see that the students are happy and comfortable. The tutors are really approachable, there are a number of services for anyone that needs additional support and the College takes safety and wellbeing very seriously. It’s a nice environment to be in.”

Kurt Hintz, Vice Principal for Curriculum and Learner Experience said: “Our excellent Success Rates are the results of the great teaching and student support given by staff at the College. Everyone works tirelessly to ensure all learners get the support they need to achieve. This news confirms our leading position amongst London colleges and it is backed by our high rates of student satisfaction.”

The College’s overall Success and Achievement Rate are as a result of first-rate teaching and learning. The results have come at a time when the College has just completed a £20million investment in facilities.
At its Enfield Centre the College has injected more than £16million to create exceptional learner facilities for welfare and learning, a Construction Centre offering state-of-the-art facilities and a new Sports Centre and Library.
In Haringey, the College’s Tottenham Centre is central to the £1billion private and public investment taking place to regenerate the local area.”

Kurt Hintz continued: “There has never been a better time for the people of Haringey and Enfield to make us their college of first choice.”

How the results are collected and worked out

  1. In 2013/14 the College had 24,786 learners and according to QSR success rates published by the SFA on 8 April 2015 has the highest success rates overall of all London GFE colleges. The College received a grade two Ofsted rating overall in April last year and grade one outstanding rating for Leadership and Management.
  2. The SFA is the government body that funds skills training in further education. Their April report lists the success rates for all UK colleges in 2013-14 and is calculated using wide-ranging and precise data. • 3. Success Rates are worked out as percentages, based on how many qualifications are successfully completed, compared to how many college learners started. Success Rates are a very important measurement or performance indicator for each college in assessing how well they are doing. Rates are compared nationally to calculate a ‘benchmark’ rate which then shows if a particular College is performing less well or much better than similar ones.
