Are you considering your career options and looking to develop your employability skills? ICAEW’s National Business and Accounting competition, BASE, offers students the opportunity to learn what a career in business, finance and accounting can offer whilst developing key skills.
In teams of six you’ll compete against other students from local schools and colleges, by taking on a real life business challenge. You’ll be tasked with analysing information about a company and using your findings to provide innovative solutions to business issues. A professional mentor will support you on the day and guide you through all aspects of the challenge. Finally, you’ll need to convince the company’s board of directors that your recommendations are the best for the future of the business in a short presentation.
You’ll have the opportunity to meet business professionals at the BASE employer exhibition whilst finding out about the different routes into a range of careers. Beyond all of this, by attending BASE you’ll develop great skills and experience you can use on CV’s and in personal statements in the future.
