Business, Accounting and Skills Education (BASE) will give you an excellent opportunity to learn more about careers in accountancy, finance and business, meet potential employers, strengthen your CV and sharpen your skills. BASE offers an experience like nothing you will experience in the classroom. Add to this, a little inter-school rivalry and the chance to win amazing prizes, there’s just one question: Why wouldn’t you want to attend?
What is BASE?
BASE, our national business game competition, is a fun, interactive and thought-provoking experience. By attending one of our regional heats you will work in a team with your class-mates to analyse a business case study. Taking on the role of an ICAEW Chartered Accountant, you will be required to assess the challenges presented in the case, identify solutions and present your findings back to a panel of judges. Winning teams from each heat will secure a place to compete against teams from around the UK at our prestigious national final on the 27 June 2013.
What will I gain from participating?
BASE will introduce you to careers in accountancy, finance and business. It will enhance your understanding of the business world and enable you to explore the range of career opportunities that are available as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant. You will also get the opportunity to meet and network with potential employers to see what they look for in a trainee ICAEW Chartered Accountants and find out what their careers are really like.
