Determines and supports Internet working service requirements for switched networks; implements network systems and subsystems and associated hardware and software. Capita is seeking a highly skilled Onsite Network Engineer to join our growing Network team. In this role, you will work on exciting projects for a number of Capita clients, providing support for predominantly a large London Borough.
This is a hybrid role two days per week on site in North London and three days at home.
What you will be doing:
-Provide onsite support for London Borough customers, across multiple sites.
-Lead by example, ensuring a high level of service is delivered to the customer at all times.
-Proactively escalate any potential SLA failures to the Team Leader and/or Service Delivery Manager.
-Keep the customer informed of the progress of the incident and update the ticketing system regularly.
What we are looking for:
-Experience of WAN infrastructure support.
-CCNA, PCNSA or JNCIA or working towards one of those certifications.
-Strong knowledge of Firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Juniper) and encryption technologies (e.g. GRE, IPSEC).
-Knowledge of routing protocols (e.g. BGP & OSPF, EIGRP) and SNMP monitoring products (including SolarWinds and Cisco Prime).
-Driving licence and access to own vehicle.
