Finance Support Apprentice

Working out of their new office within Glasgow, you will be a key team player as part of their team, working in the finance department. Our client had one restaurant in 2017, as of today they now have 16 restaurants in 4 separate countries! 

The organisation are no strangers to all things apprentices, as proven in the past, they have a rich history of developing apprentices with QA and progressing them within their professional career.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Processing supplier invoices through (Hubdoc and Xero). You will do weekly payment runs, pulling suggested payments and discussing with management. You will send out remittances and ensuring ledgers are updated. Throughout your apprenticeship you will become an exert of Xero
  • Become an expert user of our internal system (Zonal Acquire), and help implement this while working collaboratively
  • Manage own diary via MS Outlook
  • Dealing with supplier queries in a professional and courteous manner
  • Reconciling supplier statements, investigating and fixing any discrepancies
  • Reviewing ledgers and investigating/resolving anything to keep them in good shape

Desired skills and qualities:

  • An eagerness to learn and develop new skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good computer skills, specifically Microsoft Excel and similar
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work well under pressure

Working week:
37.5 hours, 
Monday to Friday, 
9am - 5pm. 

Salary:
£14,722.50 per annum.

You will complete your apprenticeship with QA on your first year at the company. There will be salary reviews and lots more responsibility for the successful candidate to gain over time with an employer who will develop them in to a professional in this field, through on the job and related training courses.

Future prospects: 
90% of QA apprentices secure permanent employment after completing their apprenticeship: this is 20% higher than the national average.
