Why Faculty of Advocates?

The Scottish Bar is one of Scotland’s most ancient and prestigious institutions with a membership of about 460 practising Advocates. Most advocates are supported in their professional practices by Practice Managers/Advocates’ Clerks employed by Faculty Services Limited.

Faculty of Advocates are looking for a Digital Support Apprentice to join their team based in Edinburgh to help their Training and Education Department.

What's involved?

  • Working as a first response in the Training and Education Department to all incoming queries and passing these across to internal stakeholders accordingly.
  • Becoming an expert and proficient in analysing data and business activity on their in-house Education Management System iMIS.
  • Working collaboratively across teams to help with digital logistics, training materials and update internal systems.
  • Becoming a superuser in Umbraco to manage website content, distributing marketing materials and publishing new updates.
  • You will be working alongside the programming team to help with purchase ordering for client accounts.
  • Utilising Echo360 daily to update database information, record learning materials and enhance learning environment for clients.
  • Other ad hoc activities such as, events set up’s, managing registrations and attendance and managing all departmental activities.

What do you need to succeed?

  • An interest in IT and digital communications

Salary: £13,741 - £18,200 per annum (depending on age).

Working week: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Starting with insights into your current potential, they plan your growth in a programmatic way, close skills gaps with immersive training and ensure what you learn is applicable to what you do. They talk you through the specifics on the qualifications you gain and how they align in particular to your day to day role.

On completion, as well as the valuable work experience you have gained, you get a nationally recognised qualification at SCQF Level 6.
