Your new role, what's involved?
As a Digital and Technology Solutions Apprentice in our Intelligent Infrastructure, Systems and Infrastructure team in Manchester no day will ever be the same. Our Systems and Infrastructure team work with clients to deliver the technology and infrastructure they want and need to manage their road network, from National Highways to County Councils. In this team you can learn how to deliver the future strategy for technology, testing new versions of technology or crunching data to improve the services our clients provide.
You will be a full-time, permanent employee, getting paid while working on exciting, real-world projects from day one. With support from your experienced team and dedicated buddy, you’ll gain hands-on experience in an inspiring environment. You will be equipped with the most sophisticated design tools, exploring fresh, new ways to design and build for our future, using the latest software, gaining technical experience while you learn on the job.
You’ll start your apprenticeship in September 2025, attending a local university for either one day per week or block placement, gaining a full undergraduate degree in your chosen subject. Typically, the Degree Apprenticeship takes between 5-6 years to complete (including End Point Assessment in England).
Our dedicated Early Careers team will work closely with you over the course of your apprenticeship to support and plan a development pathway that suits you. We also work together with local universities to make sure you are getting the best out of your apprenticeship.

Essential Criteria:
• You will have achieved 5 GCSE's grade C/Level 5 or above including English, Maths and Science.
• You will have achieved or be predicted A Levels (or equivalent) with grades BBC.
• Or you will have achieved or be predicted a BTEC Extended Diploma (Level 3) in a relevant subject with grades DDM.
Please note: candidates must complete the application form in full, answering all specified questions. This requirement applies to all candidates, inclusive of their background. Successful completion of this stage is mandatory. Candidates who pass this initial stage will then be required to complete an online behavioural assessment. Both the application form and the behavioural assessment are essential parts of our early career’s recruitment process.
