Data Analyst Apprentice

Overview:

As a Data Analyst Apprentice, you will support the performance oversight of Heirloom Fair Legal’s financing portfolio. This role combines financial modelling, credit and legal evaluation, portfolio performance tracking, and reporting. You will work closely with senior leadership to ensure risks are proactively managed and that the portfolio is positioned for optimal performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Track and assess claim outcomes and borrower behaviours against investment assumptions.
  • Help build and refine financial systems, reporting tools, and workflows.
  • Produce regular performance reports and dashboards for the Investment Committee and Executive team.
  • Monitor and analyse risk concentrations, cash flow impacts and key investment metrics.
  • Review legal budgets and vendor structures to ensure financial alignment and operational efficiency.
  • Analyse performance trends and produce variance and attribution analysis.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience monitoring structured finance, private credit, legal finance, or litigation funding portfolios.
  • Strong command of financial modelling, scenario analysis and data interpretation.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of investment evaluation, accounting principles and risk assessment.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and communicate complex financial issues clearly.

Entry requirements:

Standard entry:

  • Level 3 qualification (apprenticeship/A-levels/BTEC, etc)
  • OR equivalent work experience (typically two years in a relevant role

Plus:

  • 5 GCSEs, including English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above 
  • Experience with using Excel and Microsoft products (or similar)

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working hours:

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am - 6pm.
