The Role:
Cyber Security Apprentice will apply an understanding of cyber security to protect the organisation, systems, person data and people from attacks and unauthorised access. The focus of the role will be to interact with risk assessments and risk mitigation, support formal security governance, regulatory & compliance, assist in the management of vendors providing IT security services, promoting the user awareness of IT security and reporting & analysing IT security metrics/data.
Key Duties:
- Vendor & Risk Management: Work with IT service providers to identify cyber vulnerabilities, enhance security designs, and conduct risk assessments to ensure compliance.
- Incident Response & Continuity Planning: Participate in cyber incident exercises, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning to strengthen resilience.
- Security Awareness & Governance: Manage security awareness programs, phishing simulations, and contribute to cyber governance, GDPR compliance, and policy development.
- Audits & Compliance: Conduct internal/external audits, assess supplier security risks, and ensure adherence to industry regulations.
- Reporting & Documentation: Analyze security reports, track risks, maintain IT compliance documentation, and provide key updates to stakeholders.
- Continuous Development: Stay updated on industry trends and work towards successful apprenticeship completion within the agreed timeframe.

Entry Requirements:
- An A-Level in ICT
- OR an International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in ICT
- OR a Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject
- OR a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits)
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
