Your new role, what's involved?
As a Civil Engineering Degree Apprentice in our Water Asset
Management team in Glasgow, one day can be completely different to the next. Our
team work with water companies to assess the condition and performance of water
and wastewater systems, identifying solutions to ensure sustainable operation
and maintenance strategies. Your role will be varied and your learning will be
fast paced. You may be involved with taking concepts and ideas from architects
or engineers and creating software drawings and designs.
As a Degree Apprentice at WSP you will be a full-time, permanent employee, getting paid while working on exciting, real-world projects from day one. With support from your experienced team and dedicated buddy, you’ll gain hands-on experience in an inspiring environment.
You’ll start your apprenticeship in September 2025,
attending a local university for either one day per week or block placement,
gaining a full undergraduate degree in your chosen subject. Typically, the
Degree Apprenticeship takes between 5-6 years to complete (including End Point
Assessment in England).
Our dedicated Early Careers team will work closely with you
over the course of your apprenticeship to support and plan a development
pathway that suits you. We also work together with local universities to make
sure you are getting the best out of your apprenticeship.
As an Apprentice with WSP you will feel a sense of belonging in an environment where everyone feels respected and valued. We want you to be your true authentic self at work and be inspired, learn, discover, and feel empowered in your career.
Essential Criteria:
Please note: candidates must complete the application
form in full, answering all specified questions. This requirement applies to
all candidates, inclusive of their background. Successful completion of this
stage is mandatory. Candidates who pass this initial stage will then be
required to complete an online behavioural assessment. Both the application
form and the behavioural assessment are essential parts of our early career’s
recruitment process.
What is the application process?
· Submit Application: We do not
require you to submit a CV to apply, instead you will need to complete a short
online application form. You’ll receive a confirmation email within 48 hours of
submitting your application.
· Online Behavioural Assessment: If you meet our eligibility requirements and we have a role that matches your chosen preferences, you will be sent an online behavioural assessment to complete by our partner, Arctic Shores.
·
Assessment Centre or Interview: Next,
a shortlist of candidates will be created by our hiring managers and those
people will be invited to an assessment centre or face-to-face interview,
within 8 weeks of initial application. Please note, with the volume of
applications we receive not all candidates who are successful at the online
assessment can proceed to the interview stage.
Please note, the process can take up to 12 weeks in total if
you’re an early applicant. We will aim to keep you informed throughout the time
that your application is being considered, however, due to the volume of
applications received, we are not able to respond to individual requests for
status updates.
