Overview:

Turcan Connell are looking to recruit a Billing Administrator Apprentice to join their billing team in their Edinburgh office. The role is an entry level role. You will generate and distribute monthly work in progress (“WIP”) reports to Partner lead teams and fee earners.

The successful candidate will deal with basic accounting transfers and prepare time breakdowns in Excel to support itemised bills. Full on the job and systems training will be provided to the successful candidate. You will gain experience in an exciting workplace, expanding your knowledge and skills in all areas of finance whilst working towards a SCQF Level 6 diploma in Business Administration. 

Responsibilities:

  • Generation and distribution of work in progress (“WIP”) reports to partner led teams and fee earners
  • Transferring WIP and expenses between client accounts
  • Writing off WIP and expenses
  • Preparation of time breakdowns in Excel to support our itemised invoices
  • Dealing with requests for (and identifying opportunities for) clearance of (aged) expenses from cash balances
  • Crediting and reissuing unissued bills / bills requiring amendment
  • Other admin tasks as required using Aderant (our practice management system)

You will need the following skills:

The successful candidate is expected to have strong administration and organisation skills with an aptitude for learning in a changing environment. Good communication skills, both written and oral, and high attention to detail is required. Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is essential, particularly Excel. The individual will be able to work as part of a team in order to meet tight deadlines.

Salary:

£17,375 per annum

Working hours:

9am - 5.30pm
