APPRENTICESHIP DESCRIPTION
Context
The UCL Estates Operations team manages a property portfolio of over 645,000m2 of diverse real estate on behalf of UCL, supporting over 48,000 students and nearly 15,000 staff. Managing an in house UCL workforce of 250 staff and a contractor workforce of over 1,000, the primary function of the division is to provide all Facilities Management services, including cleaning, security and maintenance.
Main purpose of the Apprenticeship
To learn, develop and utilise the skills necessary to install, maintain and repair electrical systems in industrial, commercial including laboratories and workshop environments. Electricians might work in both indoor and outdoor settings. Electrical equipment and systems may include switchboards, motors, cables, fuses, thermal relays, fault current protection switches, heating, lighting, air conditioning and metering equipment as well as crime and fire alarm systems and renewable energy technologies. To develop the skills to work effectively without supervision.
