Marketing Apprentice

Employer description:

At Jamie’s Farm, we believe every young person has potential, no matter their background or life experiences. Our mission is to give young people the chance to thrive, build confidence, and discover what they’re capable of.

We do this through unique farm experiences: small groups of young people spend five days living and working on the farm (or join us for day visits), taking on real jobs with real outcomes. Whether it’s caring for animals, cooking meals, or working in the garden, every task is about teamwork, responsibility, and self-belief—all within a supportive, family-like environment.

But the journey doesn’t stop when they leave the farm. We stay connected through follow-up support, working with schools to make sure the impact lasts.

Since 2009, we’ve grown from one farm to seven, and supported more than 17,000 young people across England and Wales. Our ambition for the future is big: opening more farms, supporting teachers to better understand young people’s needs, and making sure youth voices are heard loud and clear in society.

By joining Jamie’s Farm, you’ll be part of a team that’s passionate about creating brighter futures, one young person at a time.

Responsibilities:

  • Content creation & storytelling: Working to document visits in a respectful, thoughtful and engaging way. Capture photos, videos and quotes (with appropriate consent) from visiting young people, staff and volunteers. The role will predominantly be based between our two farms just outside of Bath and will require occasional travel to our Monmouthshire and Herefordshire farms (expenses covered). Write clear, engaging copy for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and other platforms. Help plan and schedule content using social media tools.
  • Channel management & insight: Monitor and track performance on social media using analytics tools. Suggest ideas for improving reach, engagement, and visibility. Keep up to date with trends and new tools in social and digital media.
  • Website & digital content: Support with basic updates to our website (training provided). Ensure our website content is accessible and SEO-friendly (including alt text, headings and metadata). Research opportunities for using YouTube and TikTok to connect with younger audiences.
  • Team support & admin: Help maintain content databases and image libraries with appropriate tagging and consent notes. Assist with e-newsletter mailing lists and communications records. Support team meetings with note-taking or other tasks as needed.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the rural location of our farms and limited public transport, having access to a car (and a valid driving licence) will be essential for this role.

Desirable skills:

  • A passion for social media, storytelling and making a difference.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • A willingness to travel and meet new people.
  • An eye for design, photography or video (even if it’s just on your phone).
  • Attention to detail, especially when it comes to consent and safeguarding.
  • A positive attitude and openness to learning.

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
