Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and reliable IT Support Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for delivering first-line support across our organisation, ensuring SLAs are met and contributing to the ongoing performance and security of our IT systems.
You’ll play a key role in supporting our infrastructure and ensuring compliance with ISO27001 standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1st line IT support for hardware, software, and telephony issues using the helpdesk system, ensuring service level agreements are consistently achieved.
- Maintain and update IT assets including laptops, mobile devices, printers, and barcode scanners, ensuring accurate asset records.
- Monitor system security and vulnerabilities using dedicated tools, ensuring antivirus, patches, and updates are applied.
- Assist with server and network infrastructure operations and provide support during major incidents.
- Escalate complex issues to third-party vendors and manage them through to resolution.
- Support the implementation of the IT strategy and contribute to projects aligned with the IT roadmap.
- Maintain compliance with company security policies and ISO27001 standards.
- Keep up to date with emerging technologies and suggest innovative solutions for business improvement.
Required experience & knowledge:
- Educated to NVQ/A-Level in IT or equivalent professional experience.
- Previous experience in a similar first-line support role (essential).
- Proficient in using IT helpdesk software.
- Hands-on experience with installation and troubleshooting of PCs, printers, software, and antivirus.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies including:
- Windows Desktop Operating Systems
- Office 365
- Active Directory

Entry requirements:
- 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
- Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
Salary: £24,600 per annum.
