When Danielle, 20, finished college she was determined to find a job but grew increasingly frustrated after receiving knock-back after knock-back.
Undeterred, she decided to try an apprenticeship instead. “I was told about the apprenticeship scheme at Ingeus by my friends and immediately thought it was the right thing for me to do – it has turned out to be a great experience and the support I’ve had has been really good.”
With the support of her Ingeus mentor, Danielle started an apprenticeship at PGS Law in South Shields and immediately began to gain valuable experience. “Of course, employers want experience, but it’s so difficult to get any. Being an apprentice means that I have been able to overcome that barrier and I have learned so much.”
Keith Swan, Managing Partner at PGS Law, has been delighted by her progress. “We’ve been so impressed with Danielle that we’ve offered her a fulltime job when she finished her apprenticeship. It’s been a great outcome for us all.”
