When 19 year old Charlotte left school, she knew that college or university weren’t the right for move for her. A customer service apprenticeship at Darcy Weddings in Morpeth gave her the opportunity to follow her passions, while getting real training and earning a salary at the same time.
Along with her on-the-job training, Charlotte is working towards an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Retailing, which should help her get a real start in the industry: ‘I can apply the knowledge and skills I am gaining to the real world. I’m learning, but also working in a real job with real responsibility.’
Boutique owner Jayne shares her enthusiasm: ‘We really wanted to help launch the career of a young person – that’s why we chose the apprenticeship route. Charlotte is quickly developing a host of new skills and is making a real contribution every day.’
