Emma, 19 – Customer Service Apprentice With Rugby Borough Council
4 years ago

I chose to do a customer service apprenticeship with the council because I didn’t really want to go to university. I felt like I needed to get a job where I could earn some money as well as gain valuable work experience and an apprenticeship was the right thing to do.

I have learned so much about the council services such as council tax and housing rents.

Also, the college staff have been very supportive; whenever I’ve needed help with completing any of the standards or write ups, they’re always there for me.

My apprenticeship has allowed me to demonstrate my skills to the company which has led to securing a full-time job. I can now afford to get a mortgage
