Alex Carter- Electrical Engineering Apprentice
10 years ago

Alex, who in his spare time, likes to work on motorcyles and cars and fix computers and gaming consoles, heard about the apprenticeship scheme at school. With his interest sparked, he decided to explore online to find further details.

Working alongside trained engineers, he is responsible for tasks such as ensuring that readings are taken correctly and uploaded to the company intranet and that the assigned maintenance tasks are carried out.

“I really enjoy being given responsibility and that I actually do practical electrical work instead ofsitting in a classroom and reading about it,” said Alex.

“As well as this it is great to meet so many new people and learn more about their roles within the company.”

He believes that a working environment is the best place to learn new skills and gain qualifications.

“I hope that this apprenticeship will further my skills, knowledge and qualifications to a point where I’ll be confident enough to work as a data centre maintenance electrician.”
