Why did you start your career with Unilever?
UnileverIt’s a great company, it’s massive and it’s unique in terms of the business valuing the environment, health & wellbeing. Plus, the ways of working here are modern and it’s a great working environment. I was sure I could develop and learn about finance here.
What’s your proudest achievement at Unilever?
My proudest achievement is reaching where I am today. I’ve developed, learnt skills, gained knowledge and I’m taking responsibility for financial processes that I didn’t think I would do at this age. Alongside my role, I’m successfully passing my CIMA exams which means I’m on my way to completing my apprenticeship successfully!
What do you love about working here?
The free Gym! But mainly, the ways of working. It’s a friendly and diverse place to work. There are hot desks and sofas so you don’t have to be at your desk 24/7. We have access to free ice cream and a free gym at any time, which motivates me to keep my fitness level high. We can also have a free Nuffield health check every few months. My colleagues are helpful and joyful people and I enjoy the flexibility to work from home.
What surprised you the most when you started?
I was surprised with the facilities and how modern, flexible and diverse Unilever is.
Which Unilever brand most interest you and why?
I love Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. I grab one every time I have something good to watch like football or a movie or series. I like Dove as it has a range of products and their soap works wonders for me. I also like Lynx. Vaseline too, always use it. The mayonnaise, incredible with my lunch. I could go on…the magnum ice cream, especially the caramel and raspberry flavour I’ve discovered, amazing. All the brands are great!
