Talented design students from Kensington and Chelsea College will be exhibiting their latest creations in one of the UK’s biggest shows for profiling the design industry’s rising stars.

‘New Designers 2013’ brings together the very best graduating designers from around the country and gives them a platform to showcase their work to industry employers, media and the design hungry public.

This year 15 students from the college’s Professional Development Designer Makers Course will be among the cream of the crop displaying their creative flair at the exhibition.

Among them is ceramics student Mei Kwin-Wong who was recently commissioned to re-design and produce 50 pieces of dining ware for Michelin starred restaurant Viajante.

The talented ceramicist, who hopes to one day have her own studio and business, said: “I have learnt many new techniques thanks to my course and brilliant tutors. They really know their stuff. The class is really inspiring as all the students have different styles so we gain lots of ideas from each other. We have also had opportunities on the course to show our work, and I’m especially excited to be exhibiting at New Designers!”

The works being profiled at New Designers by Mei and the college’s other design students include stunning jewellery, glass and ceramic pieces.

New Designers takes place at the Business Design Centre, Upper Street, Islington, and runs from June 26-29 and July 3-6. Kensington and Chelsea College can be found on

Stand Number CAA28 from June 27-29.

The exhibiting students are: Mei Wong, Amy Thornley Heard, Dennis Groenhuysen, Tavia Swain, Tetelle Randrianja, Arturo Serrano, Ulrike Preuss, Lesley Parsons, Juliet Strong, Neelakshi Vidyalankara, Rachel Darby, Sara Trim, Sharon Subner, Zara Ahmed
