Founded 140 years ago, the IET is one of the world’s leading professional societies for the engineering and technology community and encouraging the study of engineering and technology. Their vision is to share and advance knowledge throughout the global science, engineering and technology community to enhance people’s lives around the world.
Students will be required to send in an application to become a leader for STEM for their school or college. To enter for the IET Special Leaders Award, the interview that accompanies the application should have a specific dimension – Technology Today.
Students will be asked to interview professional Engineers or Technicians to find out how technology has influenced today’s world in areas, for example fashion, food, transport, buildings, energy supply and so forth.
The IET Special Leaders Award is open to Primary (5 -11), Secondary (11-16) and Advanced (17-19) levels.

How to get involved!
First of all you will need to register your school with us to take part in the Leader’s Award for STEM. To do this, email [email protected] with your request or fill in our short form online at www.leadersaward.com/index.php/ register-online
The closing date is 3rd May 2013. All applications will be acknowledged, however late entries cannot be accepted.
Prizes will be awarded to the top two entries from Primary, Secondary and Advanced levels.
