The Industry Apprentice Council (IAC) is formed of a group of committed young industry apprentices. They created their second national survey this year to gain the views of current Apprentices nationwide to promote positive change for the future.
In the most recent survey, it was discovered that 45% of current apprentices felt that the careers advice provided in their school or college was poor, very poor or they didn’t receive any.
56% of survey participants said that they found out about their apprenticeship via their own initiative – only 7% of people said they obtained information about the apprenticeship through a careers advisor.
The perception of apprenticeships has massively improved in recent years – an overwhelming 98% of IAC survey participants said that they are glad they decided to take an apprenticeship.
