The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London can celebrate once more as Ofsted have awarded their Initial Teacher Education course, in conjunction with Canterbury Christ Church University an overall ‘Grade 1 - Outstanding’ in inspection.
Canterbury Christ Church University is partnered with 15 FE colleges, offering accredited Teacher Training and they provide 25% of the training each College student receives. The Ofsted inspection covered the effectiveness, success and quality of training across all partnerships, and inspectors spent time at the university and each partner and placement college where current trainees teach.
The College is partnered with the Canterbury Christ Church University on the Diploma in Education and Training, a Level 5 course and the Pre-Service PGCE in Post Compulsory Education, a Level 6 course which could lead to employment or other Higher Education programmes. The success of the inspection comes just a few weeks after the College’s Ofsted inspection which found the College to be Outstanding for Leadership and Management and Business and Accounting Apprenticeships and Good for all areas of the curriculum inspected.
Jane O’Neill, Interim Principal and Chief Executive said of the results “Taking advantage of partnerships with some of the best education institutions has contributed greatly to the on-going success of the College. This new ‘Outstanding’ result only goes to prove the importance of building partnerships in providing the best educational training we can.”
