College Helps Apprentices Land Dream Jobs At The Apprenticeships Job Fair

There were a range of employers exhibiting at the Fair including Haringey Council, North Middlesex Hospital, Martin Brook and Avon. North Middlesex Hospital successfully matched several visitors to their current Administration and Health and Social Care vacancies. Apprentice Coordinator, Sharon McReady at North Middlesex Hospital said “We’ve only recently started working with the College to push the apprenticeships on offer in the area. We’ve spoken with many promising young people today and we are confident we can place them on one of our vacancies. We currently have twelve vacancies available and this will keep increasing so watch this space.”

Haringey Council, who currently have twenty vacancies available in a range of areas including Business Admin and Customer Service also attended the fair ready to snap up job seekers. Organisational Development Consultant, Lorraine Smith at the Council said “It’s great that the College are supporting local residents and that Apprenticeships are high on their agenda. We’re extremely pleased to be working with a reputable local provider. The Apprenticeships Job Fair today has been really busy with lots of local people interested in what we can collectively offer them.”

The College’s Apprenticeships team were also on hand to offer advice and guidance on interview techniques, CV writing, making the most out of an apprenticeship and to match prospective apprentices with current vacancies. Several visitors without the GCSE requirements were also able to sit the assessment on the day and receive their results immediately, a service that the College offers by appointment. Parents and youth workers were also welcomed and interacted with College staff and employers to access the advice and guidance available.

Sambit Sen, Head of Apprenticeships at the College said “There was a great buzz and energy at the Apprenticeship Job Fair today. We managed to successfully match several visitors to vacancies or they left with a set goals and a wider awareness of apprenticeships and what the College can offer them. The College’s Apprenticeships team are always available to provide support and guidance.”
