Apprenticeship Awards 2010 Entry Now Open!

Today marks the launch of the national Apprenticeship Awards 2010 and applications are now open! It's the 7th annual Apprenticeship Awards which look to congratulate, honour & celebrate the very best of British apprenticeship talent as well as the employers that make it happen. The Apprenticeship Awards nominations are open to businesses & employers of all sizes and they can also nominate their apprentices. The prizes are judged across the 9 Apprenticeship Award regions before a national ceremony in July 2010.Apprenticeship Awards 2010 - apprentice categories

There are 2 apprentice categories at the Apprenticeship Awards;

  • Apprentice of the Year
  • Advanced Apprentice of the Year

Apprentices must be working towards, or have completed, an Apprenticeship or an Advanced Apprenticeship and must have been in funded learning in April 2007 or started their apprenticeship since that date. The judges are looking in particular for apprentices who can demonstrate a commitment to personal development and learning, outstanding contributions to the workplace, examples of achievement and inspirational qualities. As a Regional finalist you will enjoy;

  • Regional Apprentice of the Year award status
  • Recognition for your hard work through regional media activity
  • £250 worth of prizes for the regional winner
  • and two Highly Commended entrants will also receive £100 worth of prizes each

The National finalists will receive;

  • National Apprentice of the Year Award status
  • £1000 worth of prizes for the National winner
  • £500 for each of the two Highly Commended entrants
  • Publicity in national media including the possibility of appearances on radio and television
  • Plus invites for you and your family to attend an Oscar-style celebratory awards ceremony at the Westminster Plaza in London on the evening of the 15th July 2010.

Apprenticeship Awards 2010 - Employer categories

There are a total of 5 categories for employers at the Apprenticeship Awards 2010 to recognise the different approaches to Apprenticeships taken by organisations of differing sizes;

  • Micro Employer of the Year (1 -9 employees)
  • Small Employer of the Year (10 - 49 employees)
  • Medium Employer of the Year (50 - 249 employees)
  • Large Employer of the Year (250 -4,999 employees)
  • Macro Employer of the Year (5,000+ employees)
