There are thousands of apprenticeships you can apply for, but do you know the different types of apprenticeships that are out there? Everyone knows about Engineering, Finance and IT opportunities, but here are some other apprenticeships that you probably didn’t know existed:
1. CHOCOLATIER
If you are a chocolate lover (I mean who isn’t!), you could be decorating and making chocolates for a living. For the chocoholics out there, this could be a perfect career choice for you! As a chocolatier apprentice you will learn how to:

2. TATTOOIST
If you’re a creative person who loves to draw, why not look into a tattoo apprenticeship? It will teach you how to design a tattoo for a client with an electrically operated needle and advise people on which tattoos they choose.
There will also be an opportunity to research, draw and create your designs so you can build your portfolio for the future. Pretty cool right?

3. FLORISTRY
Do you love plants and flowers? Maybe a floristry apprenticeship could be right for you. This type of apprenticeship will give youths a chance to be creative and show off your excellent customer service skills.
You can help customers by advising them on which plants and flowers they should choose and there will be of course an opportunity to prepare bouquets, displays and other arrangements Time management and organisation skills will be key for the role to ensure deliveries and orders are created on time.
Depending on the company you train with, you may also have to sell related items such as gifts and cards, travel to suppliers, and provide administrative support.
If you’re not ready to commit to an apprenticeship yet, you can get some experience with a part-time job. Alternatively, you could apply for a taster course at your local college or at a shop.
4. WIG-MAKER
If you have a passion for hairdressing, you should look at wig-making apprenticeships. It requires a lot of patience and hard work, but you could produce some impressive and stylish wigs. Film and theatre industries will always be looking for someone with this qualification and experience, so you should definitely give it a go if that’s a passion of yours. Wigs can be made elaborate or very natural, you would have the chance to create a range of styles and designs.
Having some hairdressing experience definitely helps, so it’s worth doing that before you start applying.
5. FASHION & TEXTILES TECHNICIAN
If you’re a creative person who loves fashion, design and textiles, then you could look into an apprenticeship for this industry!
If you want more experience, you can always get some work experience or take a short course beforehand. There will be lots of opportunities open to you once you’ve completed the apprenticeship. You will have the option to specialise in one of the following:
