DT Technician Apprentice required to support practical lessons by preparing rooms, tools, equipment and materials, assisting teachers, maintaining Health & Safety standards, organising resources, checking equipment, supporting displays and admin tasks, and using CAD/CAM equipment under supervision.

DT Technician Apprentice required to support the Design and Technology department.

Duties include:

• preparing rooms, tools, equipment and materials for practical lessons.
• Supporting teachers during activities.
• Maintaining Health & Safety standards.
• Checking and storing equipment
• Organising resources.
• Monitoring stock.
• Assisting with displays and admin tasks.
• using CAD/CAM equipment under supervision, and supporting trips as required

Entry requirements

HRUC will only consider those applicants that have already achieved GSCE at Grade 9-4/A-C Including Maths and English or the equivalent. 19+ Applicants do not require grade 4 but should be willing to study Functional skills alongside apprenticeship if required

Training to be provided

Apprentices will be required to attend college at least x1 day per week either at Uxbridge, Harrow or Hayes Campus completing necessary mandatory training and units associated with the apprenticeship. 

The apprentice will be required to complete:

Work towards gaining a full Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

Employment Rights and Responsibilities.

Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours.

Standard and End Point Assessment.

Functional Skills in English, Maths, and ICT (if required).

Things to consider

Additional Training in the form of D&TA Health & Safety Training will be provided.
