We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Cyber Security Apprentice to support our information security certification and compliance activities. This is an ideal role for a recent graduate or early-career candidate who wants to build a career in information security, compliance, governance, risk management, and cloud security operations.
We are looking for someone who is organised, curious, reliable, and willing to learn. You do not need to be an experienced security professional, but you should be interested in how businesses protect information, manage risk, and demonstrate compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Support the company’s information security certification process
- Assist with day-to-day activity within our GRC platform, including evidence uploads, task tracking, control monitoring, and certification progress
- Help maintain policies, procedures, registers, and supporting documentation
- Track compliance actions and follow up with colleagues to support timely completion
- Help prepare for audits, assessments, and certification reviews
- Maintain records of security controls, exceptions, risks, incidents, and improvement actions
- Support ongoing compliance after certification, not just the initial certification project
Required skills:
- Technically curious and willing to learn about cloud services, Linux systems, device management, and security controls
- Interested in information security, compliance, governance, or risk management
- Basic understanding of information security principles
- Familiarity with ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, SOC 2, or similar frameworks
- Basic knowledge of Linux, Ubuntu, cloud services, identity management, or endpoint management
Entry requirements:
- an A Level in ICT
OR an International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in ICT
OR a Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject
OR a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits)
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
