The apprentice will work within a busy vehicle preparation workshop as part of a skilled technician team, gaining valuable experience in commercial automotive operations.

  • Work safely at all times, following health and safety procedures to maintain a clean and organised workshop environment.
  • Carry out routine vehicle servicing activities under supervision.
  • Carry out engine oil and filter changes in line with manufacturer and workplace procedures.
  • Remove and replace vehicle filters as required.
  • Remove and refit tyres in accordance with safe working practices.
  • Assist with wheel alignment operations using appropriate equipment.
  • Carry out vehicle inspections and basic diagnostic checks under supervision.
  • Accurately complete job cards and workshop documentation.
  • Assist with MOT-related repair work in line with current regulations and guidance.

Entry requirements

HRUC will only consider those applicants that have already achieved GSCE at Grade 9-4/A-C Including Maths and English or the equivalent. 19+ Applicants do not require grade 4 but should be willing to study Functional skills alongside apprenticeship if required.

Training to be provided

Apprentices will be required to attend college at least x1 day per week either at Uxbridge, Harrow or Hayes Campus completing necessary mandatory training and units associated with the apprenticeship.

The apprentice will be required to complete:

•                Work towards gaining a full Qualification - Autocare Technician Level 2 

•                Employment Rights and Responsibilities.

•                Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours.

•                Standard and End Point Assessment.

Other training will be provided by the employer as required to enable the fulfilment of the job.
