Apprentice Vehicle Technician Level 2

The apprentice will work within a busy vehicle preparation workshop as part of a skilled technician team, gaining valuable experience in commercial automotive operations.

The apprentice will work within a busy vehicle preparation workshop as part of a skilled technician team, gaining valuable experience in commercial automotive operations.

Under the supervision of experienced technicians, the apprentice will:

  • Assist with routine vehicle servicing and inspections.
  • Support the preparation of vehicles for retail, including safety checks and basic repairs.
  • Carry out supervised work on brakes, tyres, suspension, batteries and exhaust systems.
  • Help with replacement of components such as brake pads, discs, filters, bulbs and wiper blades.
  • Perform basic diagnostics using workshop equipment · Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Complete job cards and basic documentation accurately.

Attend college training sessions and complete all required coursework and assessments.

Entry requirements

HRUC will only consider those applicants that have already achieved GSCE at Grade 9-4/A-C Including Maths and English or the equivalent. 19+ Applicants do not require grade 4 but should be willing to study Functional skills alongside apprenticeship if required

Training to be provided

Apprentices will be required to attend college at least x1 day per week either at Uxbridge, Harrow or Hayes Campus completing necessary mandatory training and units associated with the apprenticeship.

The apprentice will be required to complete:

•                Work towards gaining a full Qualification - Autocare Technician Level 2 

•                Employment Rights and Responsibilities.

•                Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours.

•                Standard and End Point Assessment.

Other training will be provided by the employer as required to enable the fulfilment of the job
