Apprentice Engineering Service Technician

Duration 48 months

To provide service support to our Service Agents, Distribution, end users and internal departments, especially Customer Services and Sales force. This support will involve telephone help, repair of machines, preparation of reports and warranty processing

•            Provide telephone help for Technical/Product and Application Usage to both internal staff, Sales force and all external sources 

•            Repair of all tools, electric cordless and petrol in a timely and accurate manner.

•            Ability to diagnose tool problem with minimal assistance.

•            Ability to repair to company KPI targets.

•            Be able to provide written Technical Reports as and when required.

•            Knowledge of Makita’s warranty policy and tool safety procedures.

•            Advise customers of repair, quote and maintain contact with customer to prevent backlogs and maintain good customer care.

•            Trained in all aspects of Test Equipment.

•            To assist in performing other assignments as required by the nature of the job and by Management.

•            To be available to work reasonable amount of overtime as required by the nature of business if reasonable notice is given.

•            Adhere to Health and Safety rules and responsibilities document.

•            Be aware and observe all safety precautions and fire procedures.

•            Maintain work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.

Entry requirements

HRUC will only consider those applicants that have already achieved GSCE at Grade 9-4/A-C Including Maths and English or the equivalent.

Training to be provided

Apprentices will be required to attend college at least x1 day per week at Uxbridge Campus completing necessary mandatory training and units associated with the apprenticeship.

The apprentice will be required to complete:

•            Work towards gaining a full Qualification.

•            Employment Rights and Responsibilities.

•            Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours.

•            Standard and End Point Assessment.

•            Functional Skills in English, Maths, and ICT (if required).

Other training will be provided by the employer as required to enable the fulfilment of the job role.
