Our three-year Advanced Apprenticeship in Substations will train you to become a skilled technician working in one of our 347 substations across England and Wales. These substations are the backbone of the electricity network, transforming high voltage power into the energy that keeps homes, schools, and businesses running.

What will you do?

  • Get hands-on with maintenance on power transformers, connections, and terminals.
  • Repair joints and work with air systems, batteries, and chargers.
  • Learn from experts and gain real-world experience that sets you up for a career in energy.

What do you need?

  • Five GCSEs (including Maths and English Language) at grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
  • A passion for practical work and learning new skills.
