Completing a marketing apprenticeship can help you develop an understanding and gain skills in various aspects of marketing. This wide range of experience can help open so many doors for your future. In this blog, I’m going to discuss some of the roles you could get after completing your marketing apprenticeship.
The key thing to remember in this blog is that all companies have different job titles, so make sure to clearly check the job descriptions and roles to know if the job is right for you!
The first is a marketing executive (this could also be titled assistant or administrator). This role allows you to continue getting experience of various marketing strategies. A typical marketing executive role usually involves working with a Marketing Manager that runs the campaigns and you will be creating the content for them.
This is a great first step if you’re not sure exactly what route you want to take yet or if you enjoy doing a range of activities.
Becoming a copywriter gives you the chance to express your creativity through words. This could be through writing blogs, website copy or even social media posts. A copywriter role is ideal for people that love writing and have great language skills.
In contrast to the previous role, a graphic designer expresses their creativity through imagery. You could be designing logos, social media graphics, print marketing and even website design. This kind of job role would be great for those who enjoy using graphic design tools such as Photoshop.
An outreach job role relates to influencer marketing. You would be in charge of reaching out to influencers and potential collaborators to build relationships on behalf of a business. This role closely links to Public Relations (PR) and can lead to more opportunities from there.
Further down the line in your career, you could be an Account Manager. This role is usually available in agencies where you would be responsible for the managing the clients and what goes out for them. You would be leading a team that implements the work, but you would be overseeing it and managing the project to ensure the targets are hit.
If there is a particular area of marketing that you really enjoyed, you could specialise in it. For example, it may be social media marketing, website design, or email marketing. If you love it, why not become a specialist in it?
Social Media Coordinator
If you love social media but you’re not sure what you’d like to specialise in just yet, a coordinator role could be perfect for you. This will allow you to run social media marketing campaigns and continue getting more experience in that field.
If you enjoy setting up and running events, then an Events Coordinator role could suit you well. This role will allow you to oversea the running of events and get involved in the excitement of planning and advertising them.
The final role I’m going to discuss today is a Project Coordinator. This could help you get into a Project Manager role in the future. In this role you would be managing different marketing campaigns. You would most likely be working with a Project Manager and the marketing team to plan and implement campaigns.
There we have it! These are just some of the major career paths a marketing apprenticeship can help you get into. If you have any questions about apprenticeships, we’re always here to help!
