Professional Development
Tristan has greatly enjoyed his apprenticeship journey so far. Though he had little knowledge of electrical systems when he started, his managers and tutors tailored his learning to ensure he had access to the best tutoring and shadowing. His apprenticeship has lasted for 36 months, and through his consistency and determination, he has learned enough to be fully confident with the ins and outs of fire alarm systems. He has been entrusted to install and maintain fire systems by himself.
Support is Key
Throughout his apprenticeship, Tristan has worked with and learned from supportive colleagues at the Plymouth branch and the staff on his training programme. If he ever gets stuck with an issue at work, his teammates are just a phone call away. His manager has supported him the most throughout his employment and has constantly pushed and guided him to fast-track and develop his skills.
Hard Work Pays Off
The best part about his learning journey at Chubb so far was the satisfaction of installing his first fault-free fire alarm system by himself. He enjoyed the sense of achievement when putting together all the skills he had picked up from his apprenticeship and utilising them on a customer's site.
Personal Development and Growth through Learning
Tristan's apprenticeship has helped develop his confidence when speaking and assisting customers with their problems. The programme has also opened him up to new opportunities and taught him to never rule out any suggestions to fix a problem.
Learning Something New Every Day
Tristan has had many jobs in the past, all in different areas of the field. His favourite part about his apprenticeship is all the new and interesting skills he is learning. Every day he is excited to go to work knowing it will be different from the last.
